Assalamualaikum, hello guys. It's Aisyah here. Been a while, huh?
First of all, I changed my layout. Before this, my theme and overall layout was pink. You know what? I'm bored of it. So, a simple plain basic white it is. Been loving it. It is so simple. What's with the bold font? So y'all can read bettah, of course! So I can read better and clearer too. I think bold is convenient to draw people's attention. Well, maybe it's just me. Anyway, it's 1st March 2017. How time flies, huh? It feels like yesterday was 1st January. You cannot believe how long have I been unemployed. Well, here we go, 3 months! Yes! I have been unemployed or menganggur for 3 freakin' months. So, it's March now and no one has called me yet for job interviews or what not. I've to tell you, I applied for many! Too many that I lost count of it. I don't know, maybe it's not my rezeki yet. I am not stupid. Am I? Alright, maybe I am a little bit less smart up in here. It's sad to be stupid and unemployed. But you know what? There's actually good things that we can get from unemployment, really. Don't think so? Well, there are benefits, believe it or not. Here we go!
1. You'll have MORE TIME!
You were busy working shifts before this. Only one day off, what?! I feel you. I worked at the mall before this from October to November 2016. Don't ask me why I quit. Anyway, now that you're unemployed, you have all the TIME you want. How much? Good news, it's 24/7! In other words, it means, every second, every day! You'll have all the time in this world. But, make sure to fill them with beneficial things or otherwise time will be wasted, just like that. Remember, time is money. Well that's a bit contradict to our situation here. But, yeah, still. Time is money. Cherish time.
2. It's time to GET FIT!
You know you were always working around the clock before this, so there wasn't even time for proper meal, so working at the mall or nearby fast food restaurants gave you the opportunity to add fat into your already fat body. You eat instant food, fast-food, frozen yoghurt or what not for lunch. Little did you know, you gained a ton of weight! But, now you're unemployed, you can cut those fat! Shed those pounds! Get fit! You know, there's this app called Pacer or something, basically an app which tracks the number of steps you make in a day. Who would've thought that active means 10,000 steps a day?! I didn't know that. Sounds easy? Not as easy as you think. One of the easiest ways to gain those steps is to dance or to simply hop on your house tiles. Do jumping jacks, hop again like a rabbit or a kangaroo. Hopping helps a lot in increasing the number of the steps, quickly. Looking at those number of steps increasing is fascinating, I tell you. Don't forget to tune in those energetic songs for spirit step up!
3. You get to be the MAID!
This one is not that exciting though. But, it's one of many ways to make you become a discipline person and a responsible daughter/son. Being responsible by doing house chores in the day then later being acknowledged by your parent/s is a great feeling I tell you. It feels like you're being useful and very helpful. You know, even though you're unemployed, it doesn't mean you should lay on the sofa/bed around the clock. It's not time for goyang kaki! It's a great time to nurture discipline in you that you didn't know you have. In addition, it'd be great if your parents come home to a clean and neat house. That would be like a medicine for them from all the stress they gained from work. Would it harm to help endure others' burden? Would it kill to put a smile on your parent's face by helping them doing the house chores? I figured not. Who cares if you're a maid? It's a dignified job you know. Especially when you're being unpaid. Then that's some genuine act. You should be proud of yourself. Keep it up!
4. You get to try out RECIPES!
This is fairly exciting for food lovers. Well, who doesn't love to eat? I know I do. Now, that you work out, you can eat without feeling guilty. How's that? You know you will burn the calorie afterwards. Cool, right?! As a matter of fact, we do need to learn how to cook, eventually. We cannot expect our moms to cook for the rest of our lives right? Our moms need some time off from cooking when they're old. They have served us breakfast, lunch, dinner and even supper, for all these years. I'm sure it won't harm if we occasionally cook for them, right? Even though at first, we failed in cooking, it's okay. It's our first time anyway. No man succeed without failures first. Chin up and don't give up! Remember, you need fuel to move. Learning to cook is essential in every individual's life. It's ok, start with baby steps. Slowly, you'll get there, soon inshaAllah.
5. You get to add up NEW KNOWLEDGE!
This is particularly interesting. Who wouldn't want free knowledge? Best thing, no tests or exams! Boo yeah! Cool, awesome! You can gain much knowledge when you're unemployed. Go to trusted medical websites or beauty websites or world history website, for all that matters. You can learn anything! You can go to YouTube and Google to gain countless of knowledge. But, be sure they're trustworthy. Check their credibility and all. If you've Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, National Geographic channels on your TV network, go there! Watch them. There's plenty of beneficial knowledge to gain from there. Basically, knowledge is everywhere. It all depends on whether you'd like to gain 'em or not. Everyday is a new lesson.
6. You can start a BUSINESS!
One way to gain money without officially working is to do a business from home! If you have a car, this is great news for you! You can be a dropship/agent for products from Instagram for example. Those celebrity perfumes or trendy hijabs people always go for, you can sell them! You can get money for living by being a dropship too. If you don't mind going to the post office once in a while, you can definitely venture yourself in online business! It's interesting how social media plays a great role in advertising products, in expanding business. You know The Junni? Yeah the skincare created by Suhaila Mustaffa. You can check out her instagram. She started by producing The Junni natural-based skincare, selling them online and have dropship/agents all around Malaysia! Online business is a great deal, I tell you. If you want to create your own product, that's great! You like cooking, oh your spaghetti tastes amazing? Your nasi lemak is amazing?! Well, why not sell them for a living? You can think about the modal and everything. You can nurture discipline in yourself through business and can increase public relations.
7. Read and even KHATAM THE QUR'AN.
So you've been busy working before this, and you didn't have the time to read even a page of the quran. Maybe you read it, but seldomly. You know you feel guilty. But, now you're unemployed, you can read as many pages as Qur'an you want, as you should. Start slowly by reading one page a day. Make it as a routine. Don't forget to read the meaning as well. After some time, try add one more page, make it two now. Regularly read the Qur'an and from time to time, you can become more drawn to the Qur'an inshaAllah, as you read the meanings of the ayats. If you keep on reading and be disciplined on your Qur'an reading, who knows, you can khatam the qur'an, someday? If there's istiqomah, InshaAllah.
8. Join a short course.
This goes to those who'd willing to get back to class where there's teachers and classmates. Aside from gaining new knowledge/skills from your preferance, you'll also get to nourish your passion in that particular area. There's a bunch of short coures in Malaysia. Just Google them and check their dates and duration, and of course the fees. You need to check the fees verily as you're jobless now, means you've not that much money or maybe not at all. So, it's essential to join affordable short courses if you really want to join short courses. From this, you can gain new friends and as always, you'll get to improve public relations, communication and social skills. Your life will get an actual schedule if you decide to join this.
9. Join UBER/GrabCar!
This is another good news for those with cars! I'm sure by now y'all know what UBER and GrabCar is, right? What? You don't know? UBER/GrabCar basically is a convenient transportation which ease your journey from point A to point B. You gotta have the app in your device. Click them to pick you up anywhere, anytime and they'll be right there in a matter of minutes! Many people become UBER/GrabCar drivers to gain extra money. But, it won't kill if you'd like to make it as your full-time job! There's still $$$$. You can become smarter in identifying roads and shortcuts. You can also enhance public relations and communication skills by being a UBER/GrabCar driver. How's that? Of course there'd be a lot of talking in the car, otherwise it'd be krik krik and awkard silence. Haha. Anyway, this is a great opportunity for you jobless car owners out there!
10. You can continue asking for jobs.
This is pretty much self-explanatory. Being jobless, you know that there is opportunity for you to get a job. Even the slightest chance, you know you have it. What you need to do is keep on striving. Keep on asking for jobs. This act will eventually turn boring. But, you just gotta do it. Be it face-to-face or via online, you gotta ask for jobs. At least you know, you've put your effort. After that, just doa and tawakal.
